February MWI Lunch Meeting-Networking: Peeling Back the Science and the Strategy

About this event

Networking: Peeling Back the Science and the Strategy

with Barbara Koldos, Vice President of Business Development, New North Inc.

Networking doesn’t have to feel awkward or intimidating. This interactive session uncovers the science and the strategy behind making meaningful connections. Participants will learn how to overcome common roadblocks, re-frame that inner voice of doubt, and apply proven tactics for building relationships that last. Key takeaways include: How to silence self-doubt and confidently enter conversations, the science of connection: why listening matters more than talking, practical strategies to “work the room” before, during, and after an event, tips for making authentic connections—and following through whether you’re a natural extrovert or more reserved. This program equips you with the tools to transform networking into an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

About Barbara Koldos:
Barbara has a natural talent for bringing people together and turning introductions into opportunities. As Vice President of Business Development at New North Inc., she’s spent over 15 years building relationships, attracting investment, and championing Northeast Wisconsin as a place where business and community thrive. Known for her approachable style (and a dose of infectious energy), Barbara has led conversations from boardrooms to ballrooms, always with a focus on creating genuine connection. Beyond her work, she’s an active community leader, serving on local and statewide boards and proudly championing diverse voices through her role as President of ACEL Northeast Wisconsin. When she’s not helping others expand their networks, you’ll likely find Barbara exploring new ideas, volunteering in the community, or testing out the latest conversation starter. At this session, she’ll share practical tips, interactive tools, and plenty of encouragement to help you sharpen your networking skills - and actually have fun doing it.
